The author of the book, Prof. Dr. Soekidjo Notoatmodjo, was born in Boyolali on December 27, 1940. He is currently a Professor of Public Health at the University of Indonesia. He started his education in health at the University of Indonesia, where he obtained his Bachelor of Public Health degree. He then continued his studies at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, England, where he earned his Master in Community Health degree. He finally obtained his Doctor of Public Health degree from the University of Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Soekidjo Notoatmodjo has been teaching public health at the University of Indonesia since 1972 and as an honorary professor at the Christian University of Indonesia since 1980. He has also written several books on public health topics, such as health promotion, health behavior, health ethics and law, human resource development, and public health science and art. His books are widely used as references and textbooks by students and practitioners of public health in Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Soekidjo Notoatmodjo is not only a prolific writer and educator, but also an active researcher and consultant.
